We went to get the boat in Maryland after a three day drive from Florida. Bones, our dog, was very annoying in the car ride. He even cried while he was sleeping. Once we finally got to the boat I met two friends who also lived on a sailboat. Their names were Kaeo and Kailani. After being at that marina for a few days we started to sail our boat for the first time. By the way our boat's name is Stella Maris. This means “Star of the Sea." We stayed in Washington DC for a couple weeks. While we were there we saw a lot of important stuff like The White House and The Capital. It was interesting taking the tours but the rest of the stuff I found very boring. Unlike the rest of my family I do not like politics at all! A few days before we left DC we sold our car. Finally we left Washington DC after being there for almost a month. We sailed down the Potomac to York Town, Virginia. The weather got kind of rough once the storms were starting to come but let’s not go in to detail about that. We got to a marina in Yorktown, and we had no other choice but to stay there a few days. There was a flood while we were there. During the time we were in Yorktown we made friends. Their boat's name is Tranquility. They have to younger kids who found ways to have fun on the boat. Once we left Yorktown we went to Norfolk then started heading down the ICW. While in Norfolk we rented a car to drive back up to Williamsburg and Jamestown. Then we left there and anchored a few nights and now I am typing this. Our plan is to continue heading south back to Florida, to visit all our family and friends that we left when we moved. After Christmas and New Years we are going to sail our boat to the Bahamas.
